Sophia Tostenson

Sophia grew up in Arlington, Virginia, and earned her B.Sc. in Biology from Virginia Tech. Driven by her passion for science, she pursued graduate studies at North Carolina State University, completing her PhD in Entomology in 2019. Her background spans biology, genetic engineering, chemistry, and physics, and she spent years as a dedicated research scientist working with mosquitoes and fruit flies. Always eager to share her knowledge, Sophia loves chatting about insects!

In 2022, Sophia transitioned from the lab bench to entrepreneurship, founding her fitness and nutrition coaching business, Fit By Science. This venture highlighted her exceptional skills in communication, sales, negotiation, and organization. Her desire to make a direct positive impact on others and her love for working with people ultimately led her to embark on a new career as a real estate broker.

Now, as a proud member of her team in Raleigh, Sophia combines her scientific precision, entrepreneurial spirit, and genuine dedication to helping others to guide homebuyers through one of life’s biggest decisions. She specializes in assisting home buyers and those relocating to North Carolina, providing a seamless and informed real estate experience.

Sophia lives in Raleigh with her husband, Brian, and their lively Weimaraner, Carl. When not working, she’s likely at CrossFit RDU, kayaking at Falls Lake, exploring the outdoors, cooking, baking, or tackling DIY home projects with her husband Brian.
